Our Story
Focal Fabrics has been a dream come into the making by founder Eleanor Bond, after years of development, to bring high-end design to everyone who dreams of a beautiful home. We offer pre-coordinated collections of fabulous fabrics, in many styles, to allow you to find the look you love. Each collection allows you, the customer, the ability to create your own style, accessing the same network of fabric houses that professional decorators use. Whether you purchase a sample box of coordinated fabric swatches to aid in styling your home, or purchase fabric by the yard, that you know you love, Focal Fabrics gives you the freedom to design your home your way. Focal Fabrics is for the DIYer, the secret creative, for the customers with limited access to showrooms and decorators, designing on a budget, those who just want to do it themselves, or even the over-worked architect and professional decorator. Focal Fabrics is a new way to design your home that is easy, affordable, and fun.
OUR MISSION
Focal Fabrics not only advocates for beautiful design but intends to support the social causes close to our heart. Our first step will be to provide job opportunities for the single working moms, with flexible hours. Eleanor herself has raised two kids all on her own over the past twelve years. We understand the difficulties single working moms face, and the desire, need, and importance to be present in their children’s lives. With the success of Focal Fabrics, a foundation will be formed to support single moms with the support needed to raise their children – through job opportunities, financial support, resources and counseling. This is our dream to come.
ABOUT ELEANOR
Focal Fabrics founder, Eleanor McClendon Bond, is a successful interior designer of impeccable taste and design sense, with over 30 years in the industry. Eleanor was educated in interior design, architecture, and art in Cortona, Italy, Virginia, and Savannah, Georgia, where she acquired her Masters Degree in Interior Design. Eleanor was born and raised in Louisiana among magnificent magnolias and fine antiques, and went on to live and work in Washington D.C, Virginia, Georgia, Ohio, Louisiana, and now Texas.
Eleanor has worked for large architectural firms, historic restoration architects, residential architects and respected interior designers, prior to launching her own professional practice. She possesses a discerning eye, is an expert in architectural details, fine finishes and fabrics, and every detail pertaining to a space.
Eleanor loves what she does and all the details involved, but most of all she adores beautiful fabrics - this is her gift.
Her other interests away from gorgeous fabrics include traveling, meeting new people and understanding their culture and interests, being outdoors in beautiful settings, and sharing big laughs with friends.
